|Fan Appreciation Day
Amidst construction on the Memorial Auditorium, the show had to go on. Pictures from this September's fan appreciation day on September 1st, 2002, along with the fan appreciation festivities the Rangers played their first exhibition game, a 2-2 tie against the Oshawa Generals. It was the third annual fan appreciation day and the first which included an exhibition game, rather than a blue-white intra-squad game. It is always on Labour Day Sunday, festivities started at 11:00am and went right through to 2:00 when the game was played. The proceeds from the game went to Children's Wish Foundation. The event outside was entirely free to thank the thousands of loyal Rangers fans. RangersRush salutes the Rangers for providing its fans with such a quality event.
Prodominantly child oriented, the event is
all ages. The Rangers signed autographs from 11:00-12:00 and there
was no shortage of interesting events for the kids. From mini-golf,
to the jumper gym, to mini-bikes and much, much more, it is also a great
time for the older group to re-acquaint themselves with each other.
